This is an excerpt from my review, which can be found here.Against the backdrop of a turbulent India of the 70's, we meet three men on a train. One, Manek, is a young college student on his way to live with a friend of his mother's so he can go to school. The other two are tailors, Om and Ishvar, on their way to find work in a small shop illegally run out of a woman's home.
The three soon find out that they are all going to the same woman, a young widow named Dina. In a series of flashbacks we learn how these four people are brought together and then we find out how, through a series of brutal events, they are torn apart.
